Sunnymede Elementary School has a great tradition. For over fifty years, the school building has stood at the corner of Albert Pike and North O and for all that time, parents, students and staff have nourished a rich tradition of educational excellence.
Through our association with many fine businesses in the Partner-In-Education Program, Sunnymede is part of a larger community. Cox Communications, First National Bank of Fort Smith, Office Depot, Proforma, and Ramona Roberts Realty demonstrate their interest in public education and in the students at Sunnymede through their donations of material resources and contributions of personal time. Sunnymede and their Partners-In-Education were given the 2007 Partnership of Distinction Award.
Parents, too, are an important part of the school community. Involved PTA members contribute in many ways to the success of the school and thereby add a valuable dimension to daily life at Sunnymede.
It is my honor and privilege to carry on the outstanding tradition that Sunnymede has afforded its students over the past five decades. Sunnymede's students learn from the most dedicated and gifted group of individuals who seek to make each day "A Great Day" for their students. Students, along with their parents and teachers, work diligently to meet educational and personal goals each and every day. We invite you to visit our morning assembly called "Good Morning Sunnymede!" One visit and you will understand why "Great Things Happen Everyday at Sunnymede!"
