Health education at Ramsey Junior High develops healthy ways for students to communicate respect for themselves and others. Students in health class will determine; the importance of assuming responsibility for personal health behaviors, the difference between safe and risky behaviors, and the consequences for health-related decisions. Demonstrations for refusal and negotiation skills that maintain healthy relationships are taught along with strategies to prevent and manage conflicts in healthy ways. Students will develop an understanding of health education for the purpose of improving and maintaining their desired levels of mental, physical, and social health throughout their life.
