Student Expectations

During the 2012-13 school year, Darby implemented the Positive Behavior System.  The system has three core principles:

Be Responsible

Be Respectful

Be Safe

The behavior system is being implemented in all areas of Darby, from the classrooms to the common areas.  Each classroom and common area have expectations that students are to know and follow.  We believe these expectations will lead to a better learning environment.  At the end of the 2012-13 school year, Darby JH cut the number of discipline referrals by 60% and suspensions by 50%.  DJH continued to implement PBS with similar discipline results in 2013-14. By the end of the 2014-15 school year, Darby has continued to decrease discipline referrals while increasing academic achievement.  DJH has lowered our discipline incidents in 2014-15 by 6% from the 2012-13 school year.
